UAE Show Jumping Team Announced For Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games

The UAE Show Jumping Team has been announced for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, with four rider and horse combinations set to represent the nation in Japan next month.

The UAE will be represented by Omar Abdul Aziz Al Marzooqi and Enjoy De La Mure, Humaid Abdulla Khalifa Al Muhairi and Mentos, Abdullah Humaid Al Muhairi and Hudson De Vains and Sheikha Latifah Bint Ahmed Al Maktoum and Cornet XL. BBS Mcgregor has been named as the reserve horse.

The show jumping competition will take place on 1, 3 and 4 October at the JRA Equestrian Park in Tokyo, with the UAE contesting both the team and individual competitions.

The Asian Games represent another major championship for the UAE following the FEI World Championships in Aachen last month, where Al Marzooqi, Al Muhairi and Sheikha Latifah were all part of the national team. Al Marzooqi and Enjoy De La Mure went on to qualify for the Individual Final following a strong championship campaign.

The UAE heads to Japan with an established record of success in Asian Games show jumping, having won team medals at three previous editions. The national team claimed bronze at Doha 2006, silver at Guangzhou 2010 and bronze at Hangzhou 2023.

There is also considerable individual Asian Games experience within the 2026 team. Sheikha Latifah won individual silver at Guangzhou 2010, while Al Marzooqi arrives in Japan as the reigning Asian Games individual silver medallist following his performance at Hangzhou 2023.

At Hangzhou, Al Marzooqi’s individual silver was joined by bronze for Abdullah Mohammed Al Marri, with the UAE also securing the team bronze medal.

The 20th Asian Games officially get underway in Japan on 19 September and run until 4 October. Aichi-Nagoya 2026 marks the third time Japan has hosted the continental multi-sport event, following Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994.

The championship also forms part of the UAE’s longer-term international programme towards the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Under the FEI qualification system for LA28, two Jumping team quota places are allocated through the 2027 Olympic Qualification Event for FEI Olympic Group F.

With the team now confirmed, preparations will continue ahead of the horses’ arrival in Japan and the opening of the show jumping competition on 1 October.
