UAE “R Med Medical Supplies” Innovative Product SterixGate To Cope With COVID-19 Pandemic

The UAE company “R Med Medical Supplies”, based in Abu Dhabi, announced that it has recently registered as intellectual property the SterixGate product – a unique disinfecting gate to cope with the accelerating COVID-19 pandemic worldwide, and stop the spread of the virus in public areas and high footfall destinations, according to IP-certificate No. EC-1-002799 issued by European registrar INTEROCO Copyright Office on May 19, 2020.

Mr.Waleed Al Aryan – a Managing Director of the UAE company said: “We are pleased to obtain an international IP-certificate for the SterixGate device through which we aim to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19 epidemic in the United Arab Emirates without any negative effects or harm to users. In fact, “R Med Medical Supplies” scientists, in collaboration with sterilization and technical engineering specialists from all around the world, have created a unique, innovative and highly effective technical solution to this problem – a disinfecting tunnel with a spray/mist/fog system, that uses a special sanitizing liquid, and has no negative effects on humans.

Mr. Al Aryan explained that SterixGate is a “one stop shop” disinfecting gate. It is different from all other disinfecting gates that simply disperse a disinfectant on people, without insuring a proper end result for the individual who is being disinfected and the entity that is using said gate.

SterixGate relies on an Android based tablet, equipped with a thermometer camera, that takes readings of every single individual who passes through the gate, and makes sure to alert the authorities in case it detects a person with an abnormally high fever level. An automated hand sanitizing dispenser is placed at the entry point to ensure that whoever goes through the gate has clean hands. Once these two steps are complete, and individual proceeds further through the silicon curtain, right into the fogging zone, where they are being disinfected, and are gotten rid of 99.9% of known bacteria and viruses.

From a legal point of view, an international IP-expert Dr. SandjarMuminov (left on the picture) mentioned that during the substantive examination of IP-application was detected that SterixGate uses a self-developed reconstructed liquid, manufactured in the UAE that does neither impact the skin nor respiratory system. The product is 99% water and does not contain any alcohol, methanol or other products of similar nature. The fog does not impact food and children in any harmful way, and is completely safe for most of the adults – except those with extremely rare allergic conditions, who might get a mild irritation.

Mr.Waleed Al Aryan indicated that the Disinfecting Tunnel was registered as an Intellectual Property in legal form of Work of Science under the official title ‘Disinfecting Tunnel with spray/mist/fog system, using a human harm-free sanitizing liquid’ in European registrar INTEROCO Copyright Office (Germany), certificate No. EC-1-002799 with date of priority May 19, 2020, which is recognized in 167 countries of the world – members of Berne Convention on copyright.

Mr. Al Aryan added: “The preliminary worldwide search detected more than 2,700 analogs of different types of gates, cabins, booths, channels registered as IP-works. But the high level of distinction of our technology from previously registered patents, utility models, industrial designs, works of sciences and volume-dimensional models provided sufficient legal ground for IP-protectability of our disinfecting tunnel”.

Mr. Al Aryan explained that the integrity of all the unique methods, superior speed and a bigger coverage are the prime advantages over any other similar product on the market. These disinfecting cabins cannot be used without the permission of R Med Medical Supplies LLC, since the non-sanctioned commercial using of technological solutions, protected as intellectual property, is an infringement of IP-rights, and can be punished with different types of law enforcement actions.

To avoid any risks of IP-claims and litigation processes the best way is to start official collaboration with R Med Medical Supplies and sign license agreements.
