UAE Ministry Of Culture And Youth Reveals Line-Up For World Conference On Creative Economy (WCCE 2021) At Expo 2020

The UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth has revealed the three-day programme for the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE 2021), including a line-up of speakers and sessions specially curated to inspire the education sector.

Among the array of global talent to feature – spanning the arts, film, music, fashion, tech, gaming and design industries – are influential individuals synonymous with the education sectorincluding HE Jameela Al Muhairi, Cabinet Member and Minister of State for Public Education, UAE; Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, IPA President, Founder and CEO of Kalimat Group, UAE, Paul Collard, Chief Executive Officer, Creativity, Culture & Education, UK, and Laura Zucker, Director, Center for Business & Management of the Arts, Claremont Graduate University.

Set across more than 60 live and virtual panels, individual talks, in-person performances, and masterclasses over three days, the conference will discuss the current trends, challenges and solutions facing the education industry, including those posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Of the six broad themes being explored throughout the programme, ‘Education Unleashed’ will stand out among creators, collaborators and communities interested in exploring new ways to liberate potential through cross-disciplinary learning.

Bringing Together the Arts & Sciences

A panel session moderated by Dahlia Mahmood, Academic Consultant, featuring Paul Collard, Chief Executive Officer, Creativity, Culture & Education, and Amine Kharchach, Interpretation & Mediation, Children’s Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi. This live session will discuss the importance of fostering skills across the arts as much as those of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), to ensure that creativity is at the heart of education. Audiences will also explore how the education system can prepare itself for future opportunities and challenges related to the creative economy.

Future Skills for Future Roles

HE Jameela Al Muhairi, Cabinet Member and Minister of State for Public Education, UAE, will discuss both the need and path to stimulate young minds in the arts, as well as how to strengthen the creative economy of the future through the next generation.

Marking the closing event in the United Nations’ ‘International Year of Creative Economy for Sustainable Development 2021’, WCCE 2021, held from 7 – 9 December 2021 under the leadership of Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in the heart of Expo 2020, is set to define the future of the global creative economy.
