Two Fathers Share AED 1,000,000 Mahzooz Prize
Two lucky winners split the AED 1,000,000 second prize in the 12th live weekly Mahzooz draw. The Dubai-based expats matched five out of six numbers and took home AED 500,000 each.
49-year oldEyup, from Turkey, and 43-year old Biplop, from Bangladesh, are both family men and longtime UAE residents.
“I was watching the show live on YouTube and I got shocked,” said Eyup, who works as a manager in Dubai. “Then the email came, I checked online and I still couldn’t believe it. I checked at least 5 times that night and even woke up my wife and asked her to check.”
A married father of two, Eyup has lived and worked in the UAE for 19 years and knows exactly what he plans to use the prize money for.
“I have some loans I need to close and then I plan on going back to Turkey and helping my family there, particularly my two sisters. I will also use part of the prize for my kids’ education.”
A self-described “dreamer”, Eyup participates with Mahzooz every week and has no plans tostop his participation.
“I will always enter the Mahzooz draw because anyone can win at any time. I always knew I was going to win one day. My wife would say ‘you’re just dreaming’ and she was right, but now my dream came true.”
Biplop, on the other hand, won on only his second time participating with Mahzooz.
“My friend told me about Mahzooz so I decided to give it a try,” said Biplop, a barber and salon owner. “I entered the draw on Friday and then got an email on Saturday, I just couldn’t believe it. I was very happy and am so thankful to Mahzooz.”
As a married father of four, Biplop’s plans for his winnings involve helping others, both from his family and beyond.
“My first priority will be to support my brother, who could use some help right now. After that, I am planning to provide support to colleagues who are experiencing hard times. And I’ll use part of the money to fund my children’s education.”
Business-wise, Biplop has felt the crunch of the COVID-19 economic downturn and sees Mahzooz as a lifeline.
“COVID has impacted my business which, of course, creates financial worries for me. This win has already relieved a lot of that tension and will allow me to invest even more into my business,” concluded Biplop.
