Three UAE Designers Shortlisted For Shein X 100K Challenge

Global leading online fashion retailer SHEIN, is offering designers the chance to compete in its first-ever SHEIN X 100K Challenge, with the theme “Be Bold, Be You”.  Through the challenge, designers will compete for a chance to be featured in SHEIN’S Fall/Winter 2021 fashion showcase and win $100,000. Three UAE designers, Armand Mehidri, Lina Mane and Joudi have been shortlisted for the SHEIN X 100K Challenge.

SHEIN X ARMAND

For 28 year old Albanian artist and renown fashion illustrator, Armand Mehidri – designing clothes has always been his true passion. This year, he launched his first clothing collection with SHEIN featuring effortless, elegant neutrals that feel both modern and timeless! Lilac Nightfall Fall/Winter by Armand Mehidri. Inspired by the lilac flower and the sky’s purple shades at sunset, this collection is aptly named LILAC NIGHTFALL. Armand created these pieces with the hope that every woman can feel comfortable and beautiful wearing them, regardless of her age, skin color or body type. It’s a collection that can easily be elevated from day to night.

SHEIN X L’MANE 

Since establishing her label in 2015, Lina Mane, the designer behind L’Mane, has since been adapting her work to both the market needs and her design understanding. With design experience in diverse fashion capitals like Mumbai and Milan, Lina brings her global understanding to every collection. The inspiration of this latest collection came from the hundreds of diverse designers who participated in SHEIN X 100K Challenge and the fashion community at large. “Each one of us comes from a different country or culture, then applies our knowledge and understanding to develop our unique designs. I portray this with my blobs of paint, this is what shows up on my prints in the collection,” says Lina. These designs pay tribute to each designers’ spirit and dedication to style.

SHEIN X JOUDII

Joudi, 23-year-old fashion designer who’s also working as a photographer and videographer. She started her brand JD in 2020 – dreaming of creating unconventional yet wearable fashion – and, of course, stunning visuals. The inspiration behind Joudi’s latest collection is the Rubik’s Cube, invented by Erno Rubik. You’ll see the vibrant colors of the infamous cube puzzle – white, green, blue, red, yellow and orange – embedded into all of the designs in this collection. The Rubik’s Cube can be solved by a series of movements until a correct color match of all squares on the cube is achieved. This same concept of moving colored squares was applied to this collection, with detachable colored squares the wearer can arrange for themselves.
