The Pinnacle Of Technology And Innovation In The UAE

Technology is as omnipotent in the modern era as the air that we breathe in and the water that we drink to quench our thirst. Thus, professionals must constantly be on their toes to bring the best of technology and latest innovations to the fingertips of the users.

Embracing the opportunities provided by technology, UAE is becoming one of the top 10 countries in the world in the Global Innovation Index, and increasing research and development three folds by 2021. The country encourages people to work in industries driven by technology and impacting the world, augmenting human capabilities in significant ways. Whether it’s by improving computational sophistication in the medical domain, or by creating machines to spot and diminish trading inefficiencies and analyse illicit activities on the internet, or even by generating leading applications to monitor fuel and boost operational performance in the aerospace industry. In regards with UAE’s Vision 2021, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE had stated that “Innovation, scientific research and a knowledge economy will create sustainable opportunity for our future generations. The new Science, Technology and Innovation Policy is a turning point in our march for development and progress.” The UAE is seeking to increase the share of knowledge workers to 40% of total workforce, and to advance the rank of its students in mathematics, science, and reading to become among the 20 highest ranked countries. The Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy  (STI) adapted by the President of UAE marks the beginning of dynamic technological progress of the country and the futuristic world it seeks to build.

The National Innovation Strategy (NIS) launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Vice President of UAE) aims to enhance UAE’s 2021 Vision which is to be among the world’s top innovative countries by the Golden Jubilee of the Union. In its attempt to create a culture of innovation among youngsters and attain a socio-economic development for faster economic growth and sustainability, the UAE is set to build a high-tech world and this is exquisitely showcased at the Expo 2020 event that provides everyone an insight into innovative cities where the fields of artificial intelligence, big data, and robotics unite to create an agile future and fortify growth and development.

Comprising of about 200 pavilions, Expo 2020 is largely dominated by virtual realities and robots! They take part in parades, interact with visitors, serve food, and much more! The panda robot at the China pavilion called “Youyou” can engage with people and use a calligraphy pen with ease, introducing visitors to China’s cultures, traditions, and progress. The robots in the Germany pavilion greet visitors with their intrinsic musical performances! Inspired by Stephen Hawking’s speech-generating device (SGD) that aided the legendary physicist with his communication, the UK  pavilion miraculously lets you add your voice to a constantly changing audio message. The mobility pavilion features exciting holograms that depict what cities would look like in 2071. Moreover Expo 2020 offers aviation enthusiasts an impression of aeronautics and piloting, familiarising youngsters with aircraft engines and aviation technologies. In fact, visitors are even provided with the opportunity to design their own aircrafts and fly them through a stimulator!

The employment of advanced algorithms and coding expertise by numerous talented and aspiring young adults in the vast and immense sphere of technology, has marked a turning point in the country and its multicultural environment. Taking significant steps towards the zenith of technological development and innovation, the UAE will continue to provide us with the best knowledge and exposure by means of the teaching methodologies of its experienced and high-profile educational faculties, wiring us to tackle robust global challenges in the world.
