Ideal Standard Hosts Empowering Pinktober Events To Champion Breast Cancer Awareness
Ideal Standard, a globally renowned leader in innovative bathroom solutions, is dedicating the month of October to raising awareness for breast cancer as part of the annual Pinktober campaign. Committed to making a meaningful impact, Ideal Standard extended an invitation to architects, interior designers, university students, internal staff, and distributors to unite in support of breast cancer awareness throughout the month. A series of exclusive events were hosted at the Ideal Standard Design & Specification Centre in City Walk, Dubai, aimed at inspiring individuals to think pink and contribute to Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Kicking off the Pinktober campaign on October 11th was a Floral Arrangement Workshop that combined creativity with a message of hope, strength, and unity. Attendees at this private event gained insights into breast cancer and engaged in a discussion led by Dr. Deborah Mukherji, Medical Oncologist at CMC Hospital Dubai and Associate Professor at the American University of Beirut, who provided valuable guidance on self-examination.
Following the informative session, participants enjoyed a creative floral workshop, crafting symbolic pink ribbons using flowers, symbolising the empowerment of women and fostering comfort in their own skin. These personal creations served as tangible symbols of support and unity.
Dr. Deborah Mukherji, emphasised, “Breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in women. By raising awareness in the month of October, we can all contribute to improving early diagnosis and curing breast cancer.”
In addition to the floral workshop initiative and recognising the profound impact of art in conveying meaningful messages and driving change, Ideal Standard extended invitations to five teams from various universities across the UAE to create artwork on pink vessels from the exclusive Atelier Collections. This initiative embodied the spirit of Pinktober while raising awareness about breast cancer. Ideal Standard aspired to instil in these students the significance of prioritising their health from a young age.
The initiative offered students an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents while championing the cause of breast cancer awareness and the importance of early detection. In recognition of the teams’ efforts, the most outstanding artworks were rewarded with special gifts and accolades during a celebratory event on October 18th. All the artworks crafted by the students were put on display, allowing attendees to appreciate the creative process and the inspiration behind each piece.
Ideal Standard hosted an internal event for its staff members on October 20th, where Dr Saumya Sundaram Bulusu, a Specialist Obstetrics & Gynaecologist at NMC Royal Hospital gave a talk to attendees and tips on self-examination.
Frederick Trzcinski, VP Marketing and Innovation, Ideal Standard MENA, expressed his views on the company’s endeavours, saying, “This October, we take immense pride in our commitment to supporting breast cancer awareness. We firmly believe in the unifying power of creativity to effect positive change. Through events such as the Floral Arrangement Workshop and engagement with talented students to create meaningful art, we aim to inspire everyone to ‘think pink’ and join us in the fight against breast cancer. Together, we can make a difference by promoting early detection and treatment.”
As Pinktober unfolds, Ideal Standard remains steadfast in its support for the battle against breast cancer. For further information on Ideal Standard’s initiatives, please visit www.idealstandardgulf.com.
