HE Noura Al Kaabi To Speak About The Future Of The Arabic Language At The Emirates Airline Festival Of Literature
The free session, The Future of the Arabic Language: A Panel with Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, takes place during the Spotlight on Emirati Talent day, 4 February 2021, 13:00 – 14:00, at the InterContinental Event Centre, Dubai Festival City.
The state of Arabic is a much-discussed topic, but how much do we really know of what is happening? This panel discusses the sometimes surprising results of a major new study by the Ministry of Culture, Report on the Status and Future of the Arabic Language.
Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Youth in the UAE Government and speakers discuss and dig deep into the masses of data to ask how Arabic is faring relative to other languages, trends that the publishing industry should be aware of, whether people are reading in Arabic for pleasure – and any important measures the UAE could consider. How will this new study change the story? This is the place for audiences to find out.
The Festival will be fully compliant with all Covid-19 prevention regulations and guidelines from the Dubai Health Authorities, including social distancing measures across all three venues and mandatory masks. See full details on the Emirates LitFest website.
