HBMSU Highlights ‘Quality In The UAE’s March Of The Union’ During Virtual Seminar

Under the patronage and presence ofH.E.Lt. Gen. Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and General Security in Dubai and Chairman of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University’s Board of Governors, Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) recently organized a virtual seminar under the theme ‘Quality in the UAE’sMarch of the Union’ as part of its celebration of the UAE’s 49thfounding anniversary.

With H.E. Dr. Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of HBMSU, moderating the discussions, the seminar was attended by high-profile senior government officials. They included H.E. Dr. Yasir Al Naqbi, Assistant Director-General for Leadership and Government Capabilities at the Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Cabinet Affairs; Maj. Gen. Dr. Abdul Quddus Abdul Razzaq Al Obaidly, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Excellence and Pioneering, Dubai Police; Col. Dr. Faisal Sultan Al Shuaibi, Director General of Strategy and Performance Development, Ministry of Interior; andH.E. Dr. AbdullaAl Darmaki, Member of Sharjah Advisory Council.

The attendees discussed the country’s top milestones and exceptional achievements that have helped enable the UAE to take the number one spot in the 121 global competitiveness indicators thanks in part to its distinguished approach that combines creativity, innovation, sustainability and quality.

H.E. Dr. Al Awar said that the UAE is a pioneer in building an integrated system to enhance the quality of life of its people and lay the foundation fora happy, prosperous and positive Emirati society. The system is backed by effective strategies that ensure the country’s continuous sustainable development, progress and growth based on quality. This is in line with the wise vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, VicePresident and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who said,“Quality is not an objective, but a way of life.”

H.E. also pointed that the country has left positive imprints and achieved key milestones to reach the ranks of the world’s advanced nations within less than half a century. This has enhanced the confidence of the global community in the future of the UAE and its people who are determined to attain all their aspirations. Armed with science, knowledge and competence, the UAE will continue to take the initiative to boost its growth and cement its leadership.

He said: “Quality has always been at the center of our strategic priorities according to the wise directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and HBMSU’s President, to promote high-quality education to reach the tomorrow we all aspire for. We are moving forward with our relentless endeavors to establish a culture of comprehensive quality, which is one of the key pillars of the country’s march towards sustainable

development and civilization renaissance, as the Emirates bids to occupy the first position in all vital fields worldwide.”

The session included extensive discussions on ‘Government Excellence – From Practice to Global Leadership;’ ‘The Path of the UAE Rulers in Achieving the Happiness and Quality of Life of Society;’‘Government Services during the Federal March;’ and the ‘Future Federal Quality.’It also highlighted the system of government excellence in the UAE, which has become a global model for other governments to achieve the highest levels of quality performance, build comprehensive modernization and development processes, improve efficiency and productivity, and evaluate results-based institutional performance.

The discussions also focused on the relationship between quality and excellence beyond the fourth generation, as well as the role of quality in supporting the UAE’s preparations for the next 50 years and driving government strategies in the areas of competitiveness, space, nuclear energy, tolerance and soft power, among others.
