1. Real Madrid v Atletico–The first clash begins this Saturday, February 25, when Real Madrid faces Atletico Madrid in a heated El Derbi game. Real Madrid is eight points behind league leaders Barcelona, while Atletico is looking to finish in the Top 4. Real won their first LaLigagame 2-1 earlier this season, but can they defeat Atletico this Saturday and mark another win?
2. Manchester United v Newcastle–The first major trophy in England, Carabao Cup Final, happening on Sunday, February 26, will see Manchester United face off against Newcastle. Manchester United has not won a major title since 2017, but the English club has made some major improvements in Erik Ten Hag’s first season as manager. A Newcastle win would be historic since their last trophy victory was in 1955, and they have not competed in a final since 1999.
3. Marseille vPSG–Le Classique, the rivalry between Marseille and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this Sunday, February 26, is also not to be missed! PSG has won eight out of the last 10 Ligue 1 titles, while Marseille has not won a title since 2010. PSG are taking the lead with five points over Marseille, who are in second place.
4. Bayern Munich v Union Berlin–Another tournament that will kick into high gear on Sunday, February 26, is between German rivals Bayern Munich and Union Berlin. Bayern has won 10 Bundesliga titles in a row, but this season seems to be their greatest challenge yet. Union Berlin are level on points with Bayern at the top of the table, along with Borussia Dortmund. Since the Bundesliga re-started after the winter break, Bayern has only won two of their six fixtures. They lost 3-2 at Borussia Monchengladbach last weekend.
5. Tottenham v Chelsea–A London Derby, featuring two of English football’s ‘Big 6’ on Sunday, February 26, will see Tottenham take on Chelsea. A big story heading into the game surrounds Chelsea manager Graham Potter, who has only won five of 17 Premier League matches since replacing Thomas Tuchel. Meanwhile, Tottenham look set to continue without their own manager Antonio Conte, who is currently recovering from surgery.
