Emirates Literature Foundation’s Boundless Book Club Podcast Kicks Off Season Two With New Format And Special Author Guest List
The Emirates Literature Foundation’s bi-weekly podcast, The Boundless Book Club, is back with a new format for season two.Listeners can expect international and local authors adding either insights about their own books or recommendations related to the theme of the discussion. Upcoming topics including inaccessible places, supporting characters, award winners, unpopular opinions, and much more.
Ahlam Bolooki, director of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, and one of the three show hosts, said: “We are very grateful for all the messages from listeners, and it has been so encouraging to see how each episode finds a few more listeners than the last. People say nobody reads anymore, but everywhere I look, I see readers hungry for books, authors and stories that bring the world a little closer.”
Bestselling crime author YrsaSigurdardottir joined the episode titled This Place Will Kill You to talk about the role the inhospitable Icelandic landscape plays in her taut thrillers, while author Sheila Maher shared her top recommendation for Irish books in the episode Fairies, Death and the Books at the End of the Rainbow. Buddhist monk Gelong Thubten will share his insights for how to maintain equilibrium when you are fasting.
The Boundless Book Club was launched in 2020 at the start of the pandemic and has grown steadily with listeners all over the world. Outside of the UAE, the biggest listener markets are USA, India, UK, Canada, and France.
Many of the episode topics have been suggested by listeners through social media comments or emails sent to comms@emirateslitfest.com.
The Foundation also has a second podcast channel featuring Festival content and author interviews. Both podcasts, the Best of the Emirates LitFest, and the Boundless Book Club, can be found on all the commonly used listening apps.
