Dubai’s International Humanitarian City (IHC) hosts the Global Supply Chain Conference for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies

Dubai’s International Humanitarian City (IHC) and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) are currently hosting the Global Supply Chain Conference from March 4th to March 7th, 2024, at Dubai’s International Humanitarian City.

In collaboration with IHC, the conference convenes key stakeholders from 38 National Societies, IFRC, ICRC, and external partners, including prominent organizations from the MENA region, such as the Emirates Red Crescent.

Giuseppe Saba, CEO of Dubai’s International Humanitarian City, emphasized the significance of the conference, stating, “At IHC, we firmly embraced the SDG#17 on Partnerships, and we have been working diligently since last year on the sustainability of the humanitarian supply chain. Together with our partners, on the sidelines of COP28, we launched a Call to Action in this regard. The Global Supply Chain Conference represents a pivotal moment for the humanitarian community as we seek innovative solutions to address challenges in supply chain management.”

Simon Missiri, Director of IFRC Global Humanitarian Services and Supply Chain Management, said: “The IFRC Global Supply Chain conference aims to enhance cooperation, explore innovations, and address environmental sustainability challenges in humanitarian supply chains. It will also discuss and agree on practical ways to significantly enhance the efficiency and innovation in Red Cross and Red Crescent supply chain management based on its global reach and purchasing power, the better to serve those in need around the world.”

The conference aims to foster collaboration, explore innovations, and address sustainability challenges in humanitarian supply chains.
