du Announces Appointments For The 2021 Youth Council With New Members Set To Make Organizational And National Agenda Contributions
du, from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC)has announced the latest members to join the du Youth Council. Established in 2017 as part of the UAE leadership’s vision for future success at the national level, the du Youth Council empowers Emirati youth within the organization to realize their professional potential through ICT and inspire the nation’s youth to pursue their careers in the telecommunications sector. The new members have received their invitations in line with annual onboarding traditions. This 2021 class represents the fourth cycle of appointments, all of whom will aim to support the National Agenda’s youth empowerment and development objectives.
In line with the announcement, Alya Alshamsi has been named as the President of du Youth Council and has represented du at the second annual GOV Youth Summit in June 2021 as part of the first roles in her new capacity. Noora Nasser has been confirmed as the Vice President, while Suhaila AlWali and Reem Al Abdullajoin as Youth Advisors to the Council. In addition, Saeed Alshehhi, Rashed Abdulla, Aaesha Alnuaimi, Bashayer Alshehhi, Essa Shaban, and Abdulrahman Alaryani have been welcomed to the Council as Youth Members.
The du Youth Council provides a unique platform that welcomes new concepts, ensures ideas are considered within the organization, reinforces the role of the youth, and encourages up-and-coming talent engagement. To strengthen ties and empower future Emirati Talent, the Youth Council has signed with the Dubai Government Human Resources, which ensured knowledge and cultural exchange as du has hosted two candidates from government entities such as the Dubai Health Authority and Public Prosecution Dubai .
du Youth Council is also known to host inspirational youth circle events such as one themed “Developing Today’s Digital World Leaders”, which exposed young ICT leaders to various fields that they can contribute to – such as overcoming cyber security threats in the digital transformation journey.
