UAE Lounge Visits Rise Ahead Of Eid As Travellers Seek Greater Comfort And Calm
New data from Priority Pass reveals a surge in airport lounge usage across the UAE, with visits increasing significantly from April across key locations in Dubai and Abu Dhabi – highlighting growing demand for calmer, more comfortable airport experiences ahead of the busy Eid travel period.
The uplift comes as the UAE approaches the Eid Al Adha holiday period, when extended public holidays and school breaks traditionally drive a spike in both regional and international travel. With more travellers preparing for peak-season journeys, lounges are increasingly being viewed as an essential part of the airport experience, offering space to relax, recharge and avoid crowded terminals.
Several UAE lounges recorded strong month-on-month growth in April. Pearl Lounge at Abu Dhabi International saw visits increase by 53%, while Dubai International lounges also reported gains, including Ahlan Lounge (+15%) and Marhaba Lounge (+7%) – reinforcing broader momentum across the UAE travel market.
The increase reflects a wider shift in traveller behaviour across the region. As travel demand remains elevated throughout the year, particularly heading into the summer and Eid period, UAE travellers are placing greater emphasis on comfort, convenience and control when flying. Airport lounges are increasingly seen not as an occasional luxury, but as a practical way to manage the journey, especially during busy travel periods.
This trend also aligns with the continued evolution of travel patterns across the GCC, with more frequent short-haul trips, blended business and leisure travel, and a growing preference for experience-led journeys. As a global aviation hub, the UAE is seeing sustained demand across both inbound and outbound travel, with travellers seeking more seamless and less stressful airport experiences.
Priyanka Lakhani, Senior Vice President at Collinson, said: “UAE travellers are becoming more intentional about how they travel, with comfort and ease now playing a central role in the journey. We’re seeing airport lounges shift from being an occasional luxury to an essential part of travel – offering a space to relax, recharge or work before flying.”
