VFS Global Gifts Relief Packages To Migrant Workers This Christmas In Cooperation With The Consulate General Of Philippines In Dubai
VFS Global, the world’s largest visa outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions worldwide, has donated relief packages to migrant workers who have lost their jobs because of the COVID-19 pandemic, in cooperation with the Consulate General of Philippines in Dubai.
As part of the goodwill initiatives this Christmas,VFS Global created relief packages for these workers, which included necessary day-to-day items such as medicines, blankets, and hygiene kits. The relief package also included a delicious Christmas sweet to bring some festive cheer into their lives.
Peter Brun, Chief Communications Officer and in charge for CSR initiatives at VFS Global said: “At VFS Global, we are committed to improving the lives of the people in the communities in which we operate, and we recognise the plight of workers who are struggling. Our primary goal is to assist the most vulnerable who are negatively impacted by the pandemic, as well as assist and cooperate in any way we can with consulate/embassies who are working to repatriate stranded workers.”
This donation is part of a larger practice adopted by VFS Global for festive gifting in 2020. Instead of gifting customary corporate hampers, VFS Global chooses to support good causes as a way of giving a meaningful gift on festive occasions to its business partners. During 2020, the company made a generous contribution towards the ‘10 Million Meals’ campaign on Eid and supported Indian Consulate to repatriate workers on Diwali.
