Taf-Heem Contributes To UAE COVID-19 Relief Support

As the world is faced with the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic Taf-heem, determining the word “understanding” derives from the Arabic language, creates initiative for welfare of workers by providing pre-orientation training and skilled training in the country of origin.

Under the blessings and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Saeed Bin Hasher Al Maktoum, Chairman of Taf-heem is committed to supporting the UAE’s fight against COVID-19. The company  have provided  labourers and migrant workers in the UAE hygiene packs with masks and sanitizers, food and telephone vouchers to reach out their beloved ones.

Ensuring hygiene and welfare at this time of the upmost importance, Taf-heem is reaching out to those who have been left destitute due to Covid19 and assist them with hygiene boxes and food deliveries. Since #staysafeTaf-heem campaign was launched on April 4th 2020, Taf-heem has supported over 864 workers from Bangladesh and 1100 workers from other nationalities including Indian, Philippines, Sri lankan and Nepal.

Taf-heem as a proud UAE initiative encourages employers and employees to create a seamless, secure and regulated migration process allowing them to know their rights and learn about the UAE laws. The aim is to support workers to know their rights including the areas of recruitment, pay, labour , currency, travel, food, housing and health and to enable them to understand the cost of migration so that they are not left paying debts and instead utilizing their salaries for their own needs and families.  This will not only enhance existing procedures when workers reach UAE but will also enhance UAE support towards tolerance and social integration as well as increasing GDP for both source and receiving countries. By creating “Understanding” Taf-heem promotes a regulated structure via visual and physical training, basic language and cognitive testing to ensure the worker thinks about solutions and understands the rules of working legally in the UAE.

Taf-heem plans to work with local entities in the country of origin to promote UAE labour rights and training standards before they leave their country. Following the recent Covid19,  Taf-heem has also taken the initiative to provide Covid19 rapid testing to all expatriate workers and supply each person with a durable reusable mask once they are certified by the training centers to work in UAE. This will enable some precaution and prevention for sending and receiving countries and inspire employers and agents to take care of workers and their long term career objectives and welfare in the UAE.
